Meet Team Captricity: Michael Bennett
December 17, 2014 by Michael Bennett
Aloha, my name is Michael.
I work on the marketing and sales teams at Captricity. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, I came to the Bay Area in order to build technology companies that shape the future. Working at Captricity is important for me because I believe as a society we need to bridge the massive digital divide in the world.
Having lived with close friends in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro in college, building schools and community centers in Costa Rica during high school, and working in shelters through my life in Hawaii, I was part of communities that were connected to the world via social media and and a surface-level digital presence, but the critical data for individuals and communities: relating to health, finance, education, and government, were and continue to be trapped on paper.
My work consists of bridging the sales and the marketing teams; I partner with potential users and learn about their use case and challenges, share the vision for what Captricity does, and explain to them how our product functions. I also am privileged to help lead our Captricity.org arm dedicated to providing access to digital data to the underserved throughout the world. One of the best things about my job is I am exposed to a lot of different roles and am challenged to produce world class work!
