Meet Team Captricity: Jessica Clayton

June 03, 2015 by Jessica Clayton

Hi, I’m Jessica, and I’m the Workforce Manager at Captricity. I grew up in Colorado, where I frequently traveled abroad during the summers and began to develop my affinity for international development. As an Economics and International Studies major at Middlebury College, I wish I had known about Captricity when I spent months digitizing my own field survey data for my thesis work!

From 2009 to 2012, I served in the Peace Corps as an agricultural volunteer in Paraguay. I spent a lot of time managing a diverse range of projects, from small animal husbandry to developing a rural family finance curriculum. I returned to earn my Masters in Development Practice at UC Berkeley, where I began working as an independent strategy and project design consultant for socially minded nonprofits and companies throughout the Bay Area.

I heard about Captricity through my work with the Blum Center for Developing Economies, and I immediately recognized its potential to positively influence development efforts across a variety of fields. As a specialist in Impact Evaluation, I’ve always believed in the power of data to improve decisions worldwide. In the role of Workforce Manager at Captricity, it is my job to represent and support the development of our incredible crowd-sourced workforce by fostering relationships and redefining information exchange. I leave work every day inspired by all of the passionate people working to improve accessibility to data!
